Blackcurrant Juice Shows Clinical Support for Brain Health!
Researchers: New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research and Northumbria University (UK)
Subjects: 36 Healthy Adults
Treatment: Concentrated Blackcurrant components in juice form high in polyphenols (Mainly Blackcurrant Anthocyanins Delphinidin-3-Rutinoside and Cyanindin-3-Rutinoside).Blood samples checked for MAO-B enzyme activity.
Results: Blackcurrant treatment reduced MAO-B activity and the production of H2O2 free radicals (which are associated with causing Neurodegenerative diseases!)
